Akshay :Father-son movies have made me cry

Akshay Kumar would be seen next in PATIALA HOUSE, a film which explores father-son relationship. Known for getting quite emotional whenever a conversation veers towards family matters, Akshay admits that he can't hold his tears when he watches or hears such stories
The only movies that have ever made me cry are those which are between a father and a son. I know many people in India and around the world who would be able to relate to the predicament in this film," says Akshay who plays an aspiring cricketer chosen as a fast bowler for the England team.

"Everyone knows that being given one opportunity in life is priceless enough and one would never dream or ask for a second chance," continues Akshay, "So in the film when I am given a second chance, the entire PATIALA HOUSE family supports my dream though completely behind my father's back."

In the film, Akshay's decision to turn cricketer is unacceptable for his father (Rishi Kapoor) who tears his dream apart right in front of his own eyes. Heartbroken, Akshay goes on to live the life that his father forces upon him. He grows up respectfully but silently resents his father for his stubborn patriotic selfish morals.

"There's something so passionate about telling a story through the eyes of an innocent adult," he adds, "Someone who genuinely cares and respects his father's opinion so much that he is prepared to let his own dream be thrown away by the one man he lives for - his own doting father. What happens to our family now is heart wrenching and a story that is waiting to be heard."

Also starring Anushka Sharma and Dimple Kapadia in principal roles, Nikhil Advani directed PATIALA HOUSE has music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and releases all over on 11th February.
