Kapil Sharma is an Indian stand-up comedian and actor from Amritsar in Punjab, India. He was the winner of stand up comedy reality series, The Great Indian Laughter Challenge (Season 3) on STAR One, where he received acclaim for his stand-up comedy characters, Lala Roshan Lal and Shamsher Singh (the Punjab Police cop). In 2010, he won the Comedy Circus's 2010 version, Comedy Circus Ke SuperStars on Sony Entertainment Television, partnering with Parvati Singhal.
He participated in comedy reality show Ustaadon Ka Ustaad (2008), between contestants of Comedy Circusperformed against those from Great Indian Laughter Challenge here he partnered with comedian Rauf Lala, and also co-hosted comedy show Chhote Miyan (2008) with Juhi Parmar on Colors. in 2009, he joined the comedy reality showHans Baliye (STAR One), as a wild card entry, along with Gimmi as a partner.
In film he has done small role in film like, The Legend of Bhagat Singh (2002) and Khakee (2004), and in 2010, he appeared on comedy film, Bhavnao Ko Samjho, written and directed by comedian Sunil Pal, which had a record 51 stand-up comedians. now he is participate in jubli comedy cicus 2011
