Aadunagiri-explore the magical world at Chandigarh 25 to 27 Nov.

The Chandigarh Administration celebrates Chandigarh Carnival, a mega tourism event every year in November to coincide with the onset of winter .This year, Chandigarh Carnival is going to be held from 25th to 27th November 2011. The ongoing work related to Carnival is simultaneously being undertaken by College of Art at the Carnival village and on the college premises for the floats and tableaux. The Carnival village infrastructure and stalls are being made on the theme �Jaadunagiri-explore the magical world�. J & K shall be the partner of this Carnival with showcasing of their art, tradition and Culture.

While addressing the Media, Finance Secretary cum Secretary Tourism Sh.V.K.Singh stated that over the years, the profile of Chandigarh Carnival .The three day event will have lot of activities of Fun & Frolic, cultural performances by artists of different states arranged by NZCC and special magical shows at the Carnival village. This year the USP of carnival shall be the Film city based on�Kashmir�Bollywood theme by ITFT alongwith J &K Tourism .The Film city would replicate the essential characteristics of the beautiful Kashmir valley and is being dedicated to the Bollywood legend Shammi Kapoor. There would be Shikara, House boats, snowfall and many other features which will make the film city unique and shall be major attraction amongst cine lovers and youngsters� .The visitors shall have the evocative feel of Jammu & Kashmir with the setting up of film city in the Carnival village

According to Director Tourism cum MD CITCO Mr.D.K.Tiwari , Amusement park, Food court & CITCO da Vehra and stalls shall be displaying varied form of art and entertainment, and shall be a special feature of Chandigarh Carnival for visitors. There would be stalls of mask making and tattoo art besides other stalls .There shall be a special magic show on the inaugural day at 7 pm at the Carnival Main stage. There shall be two Mega Musical Nites by renowned Bollywood singer Amit Kumar & Sumit Kumar, sons of legendary music singer Kishore Kumar and live musical Punjabi nite by Harbhajan Mann on 26th & 27th November 2011. These musical nites by Bollywood Singers and Punjabi artists with comedians attract large number of citizens of tricity- Chandigarh,�Panchkula�and Mohali besides the tourists and visitors who happen to visit city during these days.������

���������������The tableaux and other display features in the Carnival Parade will be based on the theme �Jaadunagiri-explore the magical world. The Carnival Parade will be flagged off from the main gate of the Chandigarh Carnival Village passing through Matka Showk to Cricket Stadium Roundabout and further going into�Sector 22�market and then turning from Hotel Aroma crossing and culminating at Shopping Plaza near�Neelam Cinema�in Sector 17��.The parade will have the participation of various college students and participants clad in colourful costumes, magical masks and Carnival Caps with floats rolling out with depictions of animated , jadunagri and magic world characters.

A special emphasis has been laid on the theme while setting up the stalls in Carnival village .More than 30 stalls will be given the shape of a magician hut with round colourful roof. The 25 feet main gate will in the shape of a huge dome structure with magical caricatures to welcome all the visitors especially kids and toddlers. On the inaugural day, there will be colourful performances by cultural troupes from different States of�India�to be arranged by North Zone cultural Centre.

Elaborate arrangements are being made for security set up at the Carnival village in Leisure Valley�Sector 10�and by the Chandigarh police with the installation of CCTV cameras, machaans for overview and vigilance by police personnel. The whole Carnival village shall be illuminated with special lighting effects during the evening hours, adding magic to the Jadunagri theme of the Carnival..
