Trinamool Congress sweep West Bengal Assembly elections 2011 by a considerable margin of votes. Till 5 pm the positions of seats were Trinamool Congress+ gets 221 leading in 6 seats, Left Front (CPI(M)+) gets 58 and leads in 4 seats, Others gets 5 seats. BJP unable to get single seat. Left Front government voted out of power in West Bengal. The people of Bengal have give clear mandate and have expressed their faith in the governance of Mamata Banerjee and Trinamool Congress. The picture was clear after the second phase of counting as many big names in the Left Front started trailing by a huge margin. The real shock came when the results showed that West Bengal chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee trailing almost by 14,000 votes. Accepting his defeat Bhattacharjee decided to meet the West Bengal governor M K Narayanan and tender his resignation. The final records show Bhattacharjee has lost the elections by 15,000 votes to his TMC rival Monish Gupta an Ex-bureaucrat in his ministry. The Trinamool Congress managed to sweep the entire Burdwan known to be strong hold of the Left and popularly called 'Lal Durgo' (Red Fortress). However, the results indicate that for the first time the people in Bengal was able to cast their votes and the Election Commission deserves a compliment for this as its is their regular study of the situation and preparedness that the state had a made free and fare elections. The Left Front have deprived the masses of their democratic rights for for 34-long-years. The question is if all the Left Front leaders have lost the battle then who will sit in the opposition when Trinamool Congress alongwith Congress forms the government om May 18 and take charge of the Writers Building in Kolkata. Mamata Banerjee in her speech said that its not decided who will take over as new railway minister after she becomes the chief minister of West Bengal. However, she showed keen interest to keep the portfolio with her party as she knew the ministry well and could guide the new minister on the developments. Well, just the beginning, coming days will be full of strategies and plans. Meetings and discussions. The picture in Bengal is of jubilation as large number of people have gathered outside her residence and the crowd is getting bigger and bigger as all wants to wish their favourite 'didi' their best wishes and tell her that Bengal will stand with her in her endeavor to walk together with Maa Mati Manush.
